International Development Centre


In addition to the hundreds of reputable universities providing degree certificates throughout the UK, there is also a colloborative institution names the London International Development Centre which offers various courses.

The LIDC consists of 7 London universities and academic organisations: UCL Institute of Education, Queen Mary University of London, The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, SOAS University of London, University of London, Birkbeck Geography Department and Royal Veterinary College

LIDC focuses on international development.

Their objectives are to

  • To create opportunities and skills for amongst academics and postgrad students and in the development community
  • To assist with the development and funding of research programmes of international significance
  • To work with governments, organisations and the private sector to improve international development policy and practice
  • To design learning activities which will help overcome global development challenges

LIDC represents over 4000 people (staff, students and alumni) and provides a huge degree of expertise in global development in the world’s poorest countries.
